KARL STORZ is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join the Sales Analytics team. Reporting to the Sales Analytics manager, the ideal candidate has strong financial modeling and predictive modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in project management.

The Financial Analyst is expected to develop relationships across the organization, be results focused, and communicate effectively. The successful candidate is a self-starter with abundant intellectual curiosity who excels at framing problems analytically, comfortable working through ambiguity, and have a proven track record of helping leverage analytical insights to drive impactful decisions. The Financial Analyst is expected to develop business acumen to question and advise management, provide actionable insights, including trend, market basket, causal, correlation and regression analysis.

The successful candidate should be highly technical and comfortable working with large data sets. In this opportunity you will also be engaged on projects that use advanced analytics techniques, such as machine learning, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis to develop models that help deliver significant value to internal stakeholders and customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical models, financial models, analysis, insights, and recommendations supporting Sales and Marketing.
• Responsible for creating annual sales quotas for different commercial teams, maintain sales territories alignment, and leading sales territory balancing exercises with our sales leaders when necessary.
• Leverage internal and external datasets to create sales targeting lists and provide insight to the sales team routinely.
• Develop metrics with business partners to measure performance to target of key business goals.
• Design, develop and support dashboards, data pipelines, data sources and reports in Tableau for operational and business impact data.
• Create data visualization to summarize the modeling insights and communicate them to internal team members and business stakeholders.
• Partner with Marketing and Commercial teams to understand business context, iterate and improve on data insights and solutions to deliver actionable information to the business.
• Contribute to monthly and quarterly business review presentations for executive leadership.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and scenarios.
• Ability to distill complex topics into concise narratives.
• Continue to widen and deepen modeling and analytical skill sets.
• Coach members, share knowledge, and support the continuous development of our machine learning and predictive modeling.

Required qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
• A minimum of four years of professional experience in analytics with a focus on sales, marketing, finance, or revenue operations.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience in designing, developing, and scripting data pipelines, data sources and dashboards in Tableau. (Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep and Tableau Server)
• Strong knowledge about ETL process, data modeling and data wrangling.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to translate technical solutions and methodologies to executive leadership.
• Demonstrated success working in a collaborative, service-oriented team environment.
• Experience working in a cross-functional setting, managing the full lifecycle of projects.
• Experience working well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.
• Attention to detail with self-discipline and a drive for results.
• Advanced problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Proven experience with tolerance for ambiguity working through incubation to actual model.

Preferred qualifications

• A Masters’ Degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Science, or related field.
• Experience in coding (e.g. Python, R) and SQL.
• Pragmatic attitude and ability to rapidly iterate and evolve ideas into practical implementations.
• Experience in medical device or healthcare industry.
