You will work independently following established procedures to develop, approve, implement, and provide oversight for a wide range of advanced and diverse administrative and operational activities. This position will provide support to the ES&H Programs Department.This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level. In this role you willOnboard and manage office space for new hires.Plan, execute, and provide oversight to a variety of administrative, operational, and organizational requirements and activities and serve as the primary point-of-contact for the ES&H Programs administrative matters.Research, analyze, establish, and implement internal administrative procedures and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of administrative operations.Lead and participate in various administrative projects and initiatives; collect, validate, and interpret business, operational and/or organizational planning data in support of strategic and/or workforce planning activities.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional job responsibilities, at the A01.2 level Direct and oversee administrative staff to include hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, career development, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, coordinating work assignments, and participating in ranking and salary activities.Serve as the primary resource to organization staff for the interpretation and application of directorate and Laboratory administrative and personnel policies and procedures, and monitor adherence to policies and procedures.Solve complex and sensitive problems, develop and implement new techniques and procedures. Interpret policy, formulate recommendations and establish procedures to ensure action items are completed by the required due date and follow up on pending items.Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship Experience coordinating and participating in administrative and operational work activities and multi-faceted internal processes for the work unit and/or functional area.Understanding of basic principles of personnel administration, policies and procedures and of HR compliance requirements for personnel administration.Experience problem solving and decision-making skills to anticipate, identify, and independently recommend appropriate actions and solutions to complex administrative problems.Experience leading administrative projects effectively and ability to understand, interpret, and apply operational related policies and procedures; advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow through.Effective interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues with tact, discretion, and mature judgment.Advanced written and communication skills necessary to effectively interact with all levels of personnel, including accurate editing and proof-reading skills.Advanced knowledge of personal computers and associated software particularly MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro applications and experience formatting complex procedures and reports for signature and transmittal.In Addition at the A01.2 LevelAssociates Degree in a business or operational area or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.Leadership and/or team building skills, experience leading and supervising employees. Ability to take initiative and build productive relationships.Experience identifying issues, developing solutions, and implementing effective approaches to improve administrative processes and procedures.Desired QualificationsExperience using LLNL software applications, such as LINCS, ePay, LAPIS, LEAP, TIME, LTRAIN, and EAM.Experience working in a regulatory environment.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.Position InformationThis is a Career Indefinite position.
