Summary Objective:
The Director of Talent Management is responsible for creating and implementing plans and processes related to the assessment, development, and retention of talent for US Fitness. This role leads the team responsible for building effective training and development programs that attract, develop and retain existing and future leaders of US Fitness. The Director of Talent Management will play a critical role in building US Fitness’ talent development and training programs and will also pioneer development of enterprise performance management and succession planning processes. The Director of Talent Management drives employee engagement, measurement, and action planning, and collaborates closely with peers across Human Resources and the company to create and sustain a compelling employee experience that differentiates US Fitness from our competitors.
Essential Functions:
Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time
Design, develop, and implement leadership development and other training programs to identify high potential talent and train/develop future leaders of the company.
Program manage existing L&D programs, including but not limited to orientation, new club openings, and role-specific training programs which together indoctrinate external candidates into the USF culture and develop the skill sets necessary for them to become club leaders.
Develop and implement compensation strategies including wage ranges by role and locality, updating as needed reflective of current legislation and market conditions.
Design and implement performance management and succession planning processes to help create a culture of high performance.
Assist with operating and managing the existing US Fitness online Learning Management System to include project management, launching initiatives, and creating content.
Provide change management expertise and support for leaders across the organization on various new initiatives, operational changes, reorganizations, and program deployments.
Provide mentorship and guidance to Talent Management team members to achieve company objectives and simultaneously grow their capabilities as TM professionals.
Work with Senior Leaders to define and execute on a comprehensive plan to build a sustainable talent pipeline to ensure the continued success of Club Management Teams.
Effectively execute on talent strategy, including performance management; individual, team, and leadership development; compensation; and succession planning and readiness, among others, to address current and future business needs.
Job Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage a core competency learning and development program for current and future club managers companywide with feedback from key stakeholders and senior leadership utilizing various learning methods (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, virtual training, and classroom training)
With the help of your L&D team, design and deliver e-learning courses, workshops, and other trainings via various platforms in multiple regions
Design effective engagement strategies with a focus on retention of high performers, high potentials and key contributors
Drive the learning and development strategy and integration involving Country-wide expansions and M&A
Provide mentoring and career development to colleagues to strengthen their capabilities, build functional expertise and foster a collaborative, values-driven team culture of high standards, strong productivity, and innovation
Serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert regarding talent management best practices as well as current trends and innovative new tools and methods
Develop and implement enterprise performance management cycles, including succession planning, individual development plans, and change management to acclimate the organization to a new approach to talent management
Maintain updated wage ranges for each role in the organization.
Utilize HR systems and technologies including our learning management system to effectively manage and analyze talent profiles and trends
Serve as a US Fitness Cultural Champion – an ambassador of Company culture, and create learning programs and initiatives that encompass the US Fitness mission, values, systems, and processes
Embrace and implement different training techniques including e-learning and in-person group sessions or coaching
Ensure programs or courses in training and development are aligned with the organization’s principles and goals
In partnership with Talent Acquisition, help managers develop their team members through creating transparent, equitable systems for career mobility, including potential career paths and internal mobility processes
Serve as the main point of contact for all inquiries regarding training and development
Work closely with Senior Leadership and Management across regions and brands to best understand the talent development needs of the company
Understand training requirements of all positions across brands
Manage and adhere to training and development schedules and budgets
Develop and implement skills development courses that use resources efficiently
Build relationships with 3rd party training providers and US Fitness Learning Management System POCs
Create an empowering professional work environment to maximize and align workforce efforts
Manage change and maximize employee productivity
Design staple curriculums for all employees
Participate in special department projects as needed
Assume other duties as assigned

Ability to design and supply a variety of training styles and formats
Ability to build relationships internally and with external suppliers
Proven people management skills
Experience, Education, and Certifications:
Current and valid CIPD or CTP Certification (or equivalent) preferred
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous experience designing e-learning courses and managing budgets preferred
3-5 years of experience in Learning and Development or Training required
