Position Overview:

The successful candidate will work on a wide range of construction, civil, and geotechnical projects for Energy, Industrial, Commercial, and Government clients that may include airports, dams, pipelines, transmission, landfills, commercial retail, higher education, roadways, bridges, K-12 education, large industrial, erosion control, and mass grading type projects.

Responsibilities include:

* Working under the direction of the Construction Services Operations Manager, serve as Project Manager for medium to large Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects in the region;
* Mentoring of other professionals and technician staff in client development and project management;
* Developing and maintaining a local client base capable of providing sufficient revenue to achieve financial objectives established during annual business planning;
* Coordination of local and regional business development and marketing efforts;
* Generating and/or reviewing field and laboratory cost estimates and proposals in accordance with project plans and specifications, International Building Code (IBC) requirements, and client-provided requests for proposals;
* Preparing documentation of (and mentor staff in performing) field activities, observations, and testing on construction projects, and their conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specifications;
* Daily use of Metafield®, and/or other field and laboratory information management systems, for recording and reporting of field observations and testing results;
* Development of relationships with peers in the local engineering and construction communities through participation in local professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Associated General Contractors (AGC), and American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC);

Qualifications:

* BS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or ability to obtain within 6 months required;
* MS in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering preferred;
* Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia, or ability to obtain within 6 months, required;
* 5+ years of Civil Engineering experience;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team player;
* A strong working knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and DOT standards and procedures;
* Working knowledge of equipment maintenance and calibrations for compliance with AASHTO Accreditation Program;
* Occasional travel and the ability to work outside normal business hours required; and
* Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. Successful candidate must meet requirements of the company’s Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy and Reference check program.
